Abstract

This study is motivated by the students’ self-confidence at Integrated Islamic Elementary School (SDIT) Bunayya in Pekanbaru, it can be seen from the signs such as: some students are less enthusiastic in the learning process, and some students are less confident in expressing their opinions in class. Every student should have good learning achievement because it is one of the most important elements in the learning process and it is a benchmark for success in education. The problem formulation of the study is whether there is an influence of selfconfidence on students’ achievement in learning Islamic Studies at the fitth grade of SDIT Bunayya Pekanbaru. The aim of this study is to investigate the influence of self-confidence on students’ achievement in learning Islamic Studies at the fitth grade of SD IT Bunayya Pekanbaru. The type of this study is quantitative research with a correlation approach. The population of the study includes all students at the fifth grade of SDIT Bunayya Pekanbaru consisting of 82 students, and the sample is all members of the population because they are less than 100 people. The data collection techniques used are questionnaire and documentation. The results of this study show that there is no influence of self-confidence on students’ achievement because the significance value is higher than 0.05, namely 0.883 > 0.05. While the R Square value is 0.000 which means that the self-confidence influences the learning achievement by 0% and 100% is influenced by other factors such as interest in learning.
