Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out how much influence the work environment has on employee job satisfaction in the CMD Division (Chemical Department) at PT. Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper Tbk Perawang Siak. The type of research used is descriptive with quantitative methods. The population of all employees of the CMD Division (Chemical Department) at PT. Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper Tbk Perawang Siak, which currently uses a purposive sampling method, as many as 44 people come from field employees. Data was collected by distributing questionnaires and interviews. The collected data are grouped and analyzed to draw conclusions from the research results. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the work environment variable was in the good category with an assessment given by the respondents of 81.9%. The variable of job satisfaction felt by employees of the CMD Division (Chemical Department) is already in the good category or 73.7%. The results of statistical calculations show that the coefficient of determination is 0.369, which means that the level of job satisfaction can be influenced by the work environment which affects 36.9%. Meanwhile, from the t-test results, it is known that the work environment value is 4.568 and Ttable is 1.697 with a probability (Sig) 0.000 (< from 0.05), meaning that there is an influence of the work environment on employee job satisfaction in the CMD Division (Chemical Department) PT. Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper Tbk. Thus the hypothesis is accepted because t count > from t table.
