Abstract

Etymologically, Al-ajru refers to wages or salaries, or simply, it is a contract or transaction of benefits or services with certain rewards. The issue of wages is very important in the wage system for brick laborers so it needs to be investigated. The problem formulation of the study is how the wage system for brick laborers in the perspective of Islamic Economics in Tuah Negeri Sub-district, Tenayan Raya District, Pekanbaru city. The aim of this study is to find out and understand the wage system for brick laborers in Tuah Negeri Sub-district, Tenayan Raya District in the perspective of Islamic Economics. The type of this study is Field Research with the qualitative descriptive analysis. The data sources of the study are from primary data and secondary data. The data collection techniques of the study are observation, interviews and documentation. The data processing techniques are data reduction, data presentation, verification and data checking. The results of the study show that the daily wage is paid each day with the system of how many bricks are made in a day, for example, if a person made 1000 bricks a day, the wage per brick is 60 rupiah, so 1000 x Rp. 60 = Rp. 60. 000 (sixty thousand Rupiahs). Based on the type of work, the time of wage payment, the implementation of the work and the standard of wages, so it can be concluded that the wage sytem for brick laborers in Tuah Negeri Sub-district, Tenayan Raya District, has not met the requirements of Islamic economics, because the type of work is very hard with very low wages.
