Abstract

A computer network is a collection of several computers that are connected to each other through intermediary media such as switches, routers and so on, so that each computer can connect and exchange data or share hardware. However, there are some problems that often occur such as frequent connection drops, no IP Address management, limited wireless connection range, inappropriate network device management, inadequate network security and no centralized storage system (Server Data), this is due to lack of good design of computer networks and network devices. The Top-Down approach method is an approach to developing a computer network system that can help network performance be efficient and effective at the Computer Networking Laboratory of the Faculty of Engineering, Islamic University of Riau. With the development of a computer network using the Top- Down method, you can build a network according to your needs.
