Abstract

Quality of life is an individual's perception of life, viewed from the context of the culture and value system in which they live and is related to life expectancy which includes physical, psychological, social and environmental health. Most of the elderly have difficulties in their efforts to cope with the aging process, so the elderly must have a good perception in order to improve the quality of life. Objective: To describe the quality of life of the elderly living in the village of Bagan Batu Barat. Methods: The research method used is a qualitative method with a qualitative descriptive approach. The sampling technique used during this research is (purposive sampling) with the data collection techniques used are interviews and observation. The subject in this study was an elderly person who lived in Bagan Batu Barat Village. Results: Based on the results of the study, the first subject showed that the first subject had a good quality of life in old age when viewed from the existing aspects, such as health conditions that were maintained, able to maintain good relations with others, had a superior economy in old age, and had development and activities in the community. old age. While the second subject has a fairly good quality of life in old age when viewed from several aspects, such as being able to maintain health conditions such as taking regular medication, still having the ability to lead the head of the household in old age and having a superior economy. The third subject has a poor quality of life, seen in less active social relationships, difficult economy and no activity in old age.
