Abstract

THE EFFECT OF TEACHER CERTIFICATION ON INCREASING PERFORMANCE OF EDUCATORS AT STATE MIDDLE SCHOOL (SMPN) 8 PEKANBARU CITY ABSTRACT By AGUSNILAWATI Being a certified teacher must have creative abilities, good teaching performance in carrying out their daily duties as teachers and educators, be able to be innovative and highly motivated so that they can be reflected as professional teachers who describe the ability of teachers in the teaching process seen from their good performance. The main purpose of this study was to determine and analyze the effect of teacher certification on improving teacher performance at State Junior High Schools (SMPN) 8 Pekanbaru City. The type of research used in this research is associative explanatory with quantitative methods, while the data analysis technique uses descriptive and SPSS 22 in processing research data. The total population and sample are 47 people, while the sampling technique is a census technique aimed at teachers who have received certification. The results of the study conclude that teacher certification has a significant effect on improving teacher performance at SMPN 8 Pekanbaru City, it is known from the partial test it is known that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, meaning that there is a significant influence between Teacher Certification variables on Teacher Performance Improvement. The suggestion from this research is that certified teachers are teachers who have been certified as professional educators so that they are not expected to be quickly satisfied with the achievements obtained, continue to move forward to have better performance and be able to improve the quality of education. Principals are expected to continue to motivate teachers and students in order to improve the quality of schools in order to gain achievements at national and even international levels. For school supervisors to always evaluate teacher performance in order to know the development of teacher performance from year to year. And always provide motivation to teachers to continue to improve achievements for the advancement of the world of education. Parents are expected to participate in increasing children's learning motivation so that children are enthusiastic in seeking knowledge.
