Abstract

This study aims to determine the Arrest Strategy of the Bukit Raya Police in Handling Online Prostitution through the MiChat Social Media Application. The indicators of this research are the Criminal Actions That Have Been Taken, Where the Crime Is Committed, How The Crime Is Committed, With What Tools The Crime Is Taken, The Background Until The Crime Is Committed, Who Is The Perpetrator. This type of research, which is located in Pekanbaru City, is a descriptive survey, which prioritizes interviews as a means of collecting data and the data collected by this tool is then used as the main raw material for analyzing the empirical conditions of the objectivity of the existence of the research objectives in the location under study. The informants in this study were the Deputy Head of the Pekanbaru Police Reskrim Unit, Online Prostitution Personnel, People Around the Hotel. The Census Technique for Police Representative informants is using purposive sampling and accidental sampling techniques for community informants, the types and data collection techniques used in this study consist of primary data collected using interviews and secondary data collected using observation and documentation techniques. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique used is the creswell theory. Based on this analysis technique, the researcher assesses and concludes that the research on the strategy of arresting the Bukit Raya police in dealing with online prostitution through the MiChat social media application is not good.
