Abstract

I NNOVATION OF DUMAI TOURISM DEPARTMENT IN DEVELOPMENT OF TOURISM OBJECTS IN DUMAI CITY ABSTRACT By Hobri Anghistna Arvan 177310702 This puak beach tourism object has long been known by the surrounding community and people outside the area. The potential for developing one of these tourist destinations is very large because of the beauty of its beaches. The innovation of the Dumai City Tourism Office in the development of Puak Beach tourism objects. This study aims to find out how the role of the Dumai City Tourism Office in the innovation of developing Puak Beach tourism objects and to find out the inhibiting factors for the Dumai City Tourism Office in developing Puak Beach Tourism Objects, and what are the obstacles in developing Puak Beach Tourism Objects. The method in this study uses Rogers theory (1995), qualitative type with descriptive method, which prioritizes the interview list as a data collection tool and conducts observation and documentation, and uses snowball sampling technique. The results of the study show that the innovation of the Dumai City Tourism Office in developing the Dumai City tourism object in developing the Puak Beach tourist attraction can be said to be less than optimal, this can be seen from the 5 indicators that the author has set, namely relative advantage, compability, complexity, trialbility, and observability. The inhibiting factors in implementing this policy are budget problems for developing puak beach tourism objects, and the lack of public awareness of tourism awareness. With this research, hopefully the local government of Dumai city and the community can work together in developing puak beach tourism.
