Abstract
This study aims to determine the teacher's strategy in building the discipline character of fifth grade students at SDN 48 Pekanbaru. The method used in this research is case study qualitative. Data collection techniques and instruments are interviews, observation and documentation. Testing the validity of the data using source triangulation and technique triangulation. The data analysis technique used is data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The conclusion of this study is that the teacher is a role model for students both inside and outside the classroom, habituation, advice,school rules. The obstacle faced by the teacher in building the disciplined character of class VA students is that although the characteristics of the students are different, there are students who are obedient to their obligations and some don't even care. The solution that the teacher made in building the disciplined character of the VA class students was maximizing the ability of the teacher, holding meetings and improving communication between the homeroom group and the homeroom teacher.
