Abstract
Companies are required to balance the business competition to survive in an increasingly competitive market, hence we need the right strategy to win the market and the consumers. The purpose of this study was to determine the Porter’s generic competitive stratetigies used by PT. Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk on Indomie instant noodle products in Pekanbaru City. The study used the descriptive qualitative methods. All of the data were obtained by conducting interviews, as well as distributing questionnaires. The results showed that the strategy used on Indomie insant noodle products was a combination from Porter’s generic competitive stratetigies like Cost Advantage, Differentiation, and Focus strategy. The company implemented a low price strategy with maintaining high quality products and also prioritize product differentiation to produce various flavors.
