Abstract
The purpose of the study was to determine the response of tomato plants to provision of various types of mulch and pearl NPK fertilizer 16:16:16 both physically and interaction and main. It has been carried out at the Horticultural Seed Center Jalan Kaharuddin Nasution, Pekanbaru City, for 5 months starting from the month of August-December 2020. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) 2 factorial. The first factor is the type of mulch (M) consisting of 4 levels, namely without mulch, reed mulch, rice straw mulch, silver black plastic mulch. The second factor is NPK Mutiara 16:16:16 (N) fertilizer which consists of 4 levels, namely 0, 3.75, 7.5 and 11.25 g/plant. Parameters observed were plant height, number of primary branches, flowering age, harvest age, number of fruits per plant, fruit weight per plant, fruit weight per fruit, number of fruit residues. Data analyzed statistically and continued with the BNJ test at 5% level. Treatment of types of mulch and fertilizer NPK Mutiara 16:16:16 interactively has a significant effect on height plant, flowering age, harvest age, number of fruit per plant, fruit weight per plants, fruit weight per fruit and the number of fruit residues. Best treatment on mulch rice straw and NPK Mutiara 16:16:16 at a dose of 7.5 g/plant (M2N2). The main effect of real mulch type on all observed parameters, The best treatment is the use of rice straw mulch. The main effect of fertilizer NPK Mutiara 16:16:16 was real for all parameters, the best treatment was dose of 7.5 g/plant.
