Abstract
Catfish agribusiness is a business that has prospects in Gunung Toar District, Kuantan Singingi Regency. This research was conducted from November 2019 to April 2020. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of entrepreneurs and business profile of catfish agribusiness, production facilities subsystem, farming subsystem, marketing subsystem, supporting subsystem on catfish agribusiness. The method used was a survey method, with respondents as many as 15 catfish entrepreneurs and 8 traders. The results showed that the average age of entrepreneurs was 47.5 years, length of education was 8.6 years, the number of family dependents was 3 people and 16 years of business experience. Major traders age 52.3 years, education 9 years, family dependents 4 people and business experience 19.3 years and retailers aged 48.2 years, education length 10.2 years, family dependents 3 people and business experience 19 year. The business profile observed in this study includes: business forms, business objectives and venture capital. Production facility subsystem includes: seeds, feed, medicines (vitamins), land, labor and equipment with an average cost of production facilities Rp. 38,794,000. The catfish farming subsystems include: pond preparation, seed stocking, fish maintenance and postharvest. Production costs / production process, 7,200 kg of production, gross income of Rp 129,600,000, - net income of Rp 89,572,336, - with efficiency of 3.2. There are 2 marketing channels for catfish subsystems: channel I: entrepreneur - collector - retailer - consumer. Channel II: entrepreneur - retailer - consumer. Channel II is a more efficient marketing chain, with an efficiency value of 1.1%. Support systems include: government, financial institutions, extension workers and the Patin Jaya Group. Activities that have been carried out include counseling, training and input assistance as well as providing capital. But from the amount of facilities and infrastructure that have been provided by the government is not enough.
