Abstract

This study aims to determine the development of the Tourism and Culture Office of Kuantan Singingi Regency towards the Patisoni Waterfall Tourist Attraction located at Seberang Cengar Village, Kuantan Mudik District. The development of the Patisoni waterfall tourist attraction has received less attention from the Kuantan Singingi Regency Government, especially the related office, as evidenced by the lack of parking lot availability, gazebos, public toilets and inadequate road access. Furthermore, the role of the Kuantan Singingi Regency Government is still lacking in the development of tourist attractions, so that they are not able to be developed and managed properly, and the Regional Government through Tourism and Culture Office is still lacking in promoting tourist attractions. The type of research used is qualitative, by using descriptive methods with data sources coming from key informants and informants. Data was collected by means of interviews, observation, and documentation. All data collected is separated according to its type and then analyzed in depth. From the outcome of the study, it was concluded that the Patisoni Waterfall Tourist Attractions Development Strategy by the Tourism and Culture Office of Kuantan Singingi Regency had not been realized, which could be seen from the findings in the field that each research indicator was not as expected, namely not being met. In addition, there is still a lack of communication between the related offices, particularly the Tourism and Culture Office of Kuantan Singingi Regency with the village offices, which has a tourist attraction’s potential, so that the expected cooperation is established between the Tourism and Culture Office and the villagers, which could make the Patisoni Waterfall tourist attraction develop and conductible appropriately is not implemented.
