Abstract

This study aims to determine the efforts and obstacles of the transportation agency incontrolling heavy tonnage vehicles in the city of Pasir Pengaraian. To find out the obstacles and analyze the supervision from the Department of Transportation on heavy tonnage vehicles in Pasir Pengaraian City, this study used a descriptive survey method with a qualitative approach. Data obtained through Interview, Observation and Documentation. Heavy tonnage vehicles are motorized vehicles for transporting mining products, plantation products, forestry products and others that are allowed to be transported via public roads provided that they do not exceed the road's heaviest axle load (MST) which has been stipulated through applicable regulations. The purpose of this study was to find out how the function of the Department of Transportation in controlling heavy tonnage vehicles in Pasir Pengaraian City. The results of this study are the Department of Transportation in Pasir Pengaraian City has carried out supervision and control of heavy tonnage vehicles in Pasir Pengaraian City, but it's just that it's still not optimal and the lack of facilities and infrastructure provided to support the implementation of good supervision in Pasir Pengaraian City, as well as awareness from the drivers of heavy tonnage vehicles in fulfilling the licensing requirements for heavy tonnage transport.
