Abstract

Utilization of Kepayang Fruit (Pangium edule Reinw.) in Meat Preservation in Kuantan Mudik District, Kuantan Singingi Regency and Its Development as Teaching Material for Class XII Science at SMAN 1 Kuantan Mudik Academic Year 2020/2021 RESVI HARDIANTI NPM: 176510569 Thesis, Biology education study program, FKIP, Riau Islamic University Supervisor : Desti, S.Si., M.Si ABSTRACT This study aims to develop teaching materials in the form of a biotechnology module on the Use of Kepayang Fruit (Pangium edule Reinw.) in Meat Preservation in Kuantan Mudik District, Kuantan Singingi Regency. This research consisted of two stages, namely the Utilization of Kepayang Fruit (Pangium edule Reinw.) in Meat Preservation and the development of module teaching materials. This research use the research development which adapts the ADDIE model. Data collection was carried out in December 2020 – April 2021 in 12 villages in Kuantan Mudik District and SMAN 1 Kuantan Mudik. The research subjects regarding the Utilization of Kepayang Fruit (Pangium edule Reinw.) in Meat Preservation are 12 people from Kuantan Mudik District while the subjects in the module trial data collection are 45 students who are divided into three groups, namely small group trial of 3 people, test large group trial of 12 people, and large group trial of 30 people. The results of the research for the Utilization of Kepayang Fruit (Pangium edule Reinw.) are used for preserving beef or buffalo with special steps in processing to keep it safe for consumption. In addition, not only as a meat preservative, the Kepayang plant (Pangium edule Reinw.) is also used as medicine by the people of Kuantan Mudik District. While the results of research on the development of teaching materials for modules indicate the feasibility of module teaching materials based on the results of validation by media experts with an average percentage of eligibility 92.71% (very valid), validation results by material experts with an average percentage of eligibility 100% (very valid). , and the results of validation by learning experts with an average feasibility percentage of 88.78% (very valid). The results of trials with teachers get an average percentage of 87.50% (very good) and trials with students get an average percentage of 93.65% (very good). Based on these several categories, it can be concluded that this biotechnology module teaching material is very good to use.
