Abstract

Violations that often occur in detention centers and prisons are not only fights and escapes, what also most often occurs is the smuggling of prohibited objects such as cellphones, narcotics, and other sharp objects by visitors who want to meet their family members at the detention center. Smuggling cases are actually cases that are more common than escapees and riots, this is due to the lack of attention to these cases by the media. So it is necessary to handle policies that can reduce the number of violations. Through a qualitative research approach and conducting in-depth interviews with selected sources. This study explains that several policies carried out by the Head of the Class I Rutan Pekanbaru in taking action and providing treatment after a violation has created a good atmosphere for the managerial staff in the Class I Rutan Pekanbaru. Ka. The detention center also made nine policies as an effort to minimize the occurrence of visitor violations in the Pekanbaru Class I Rutan. These include increasing the capacity of staff resources, assigning service ambassadors to provide information and explanations about visiting services, explaining to visitors the correct procedures and visiting mechanisms in accordance with existing regulations. All forms of policy efforts made by Ka. The detention center is in accordance with the Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Crime Prevention Model as described in the Crime Prevention Strategy Theory.
