Abstract

This study is motivated by the lack of public knowledge about the principles of Islamic wages for workers which makes them prone to acts of persecution. The problem formulation of the study is how the principles of Islamic wage system for the workers at Berkah Rajungan Enterprise. This study aims to investigate how the principless of Islamic wages for workers at Berkah Rajungan Enterprise. The method of the study is qualitative approach, namely descriptive research and the most practical way to do this is by conducting in-depth interviews. The data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and documentation. The steps of data analysis are data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. The informants of the study consist of 5 people. The results of this study show that the Berkah Rajungan Enterprise has not fully implemented the principles of Islamic wages for workers due to the determination of salaries is unilaterally, the provision of equal wages, health and safety support facilities are still minimal, and the wages earned are still far from the minimum wage standard. The lack of job opportunities in island communities, especially for women, makes them not have many options to find better jobs. In order to support the implementation of Islamic wage principles, it is necessary to have awareness and understanding from business owners as well as government to support and promote local businesses and industries evenly throughout Indonesia in order to create wide employment opportunities.
