Abstract
To find out now the pattern of existing securitysystem at Islamic universitas Islam Riau. The research method used in this research is qualitative research which aims to descruibe the actual situation of what is happening at the research location through collecting, identifying and analyzing data in order to obtain an answer to the formulated problem. This study uses the theory of Situational Crime Prevention. Based on the results of study, the authors found 3 (Three) factors in the efforts made to improve the vehicle security system at Universitas Islam Riau, but the authors considered that the most influenceng factor in improving the motor vehicle security system was from 3 (Three) factors according to Situational Crime Prevention is a mechanical strategy factor. The author assesses that the improvement of the mecanical strategy is the biggest factor influencing the improvement of the motor vehicle safety system at the Islamic University of Riau. Because from the result of the research, the author finds that the efforts made by the Universitas Islam Riau have been in the development of times. This can be seen from the gate pass system and CCTV installed at the entrance and exit gates as well as the parking lot of the Universitas Islam Riau and the presence of security personnel who are always patrolling around every day. In terms of the mechanical strategy carried out by the Universitas Islam Riau, it greatly influences so that criminals cannot commit crimes and students and staff at the Universitas Islam Riau fell safe.
