Abstract

The aim of the study was to determine the effect of interaction and main concentration of Eco Farming and Paklobutrazol on the growth and production of cayenne pepper. This research has been carried out at the Experimental Garden of UPT UIRA Farm Agro, Faculty of Agriculture, Islamic University of Riau, Jalan Teropong No. 62, Kubang Jaya Village, Kec. Siak Hulu, Kab. Kampar, Riau Province. This research has been carried out for 4 months, starting from January – April 2021. This study used a 4 x 4 Factorial Completely Randomized Design consisting of 2 factors. The treatment factors were the concentration of Eco Farming (E) with 4 levels of treatment, namely 0, 2, 4, and 6 cc/l and the concentration factor of Paklobutrazol (P) with 4 levels of treatment, namely 0, 5, 7,5, and 10. ml/l to obtain 16 treatment combinations. Parameters observed were plant height, age of flowering, percentage of flowers into pistils, percentage of pistils into fruit, age of harvest, number of fruits per plant, weight of fruit per plant, and number of remaining fruits. Observational data were analyzed statistically and further tested for Honest Significant Difference (BNJ) at the 5% level. The results showed that the interaction effect of the concentration of eco farming and paklobutrazole had a significant effect on all observation parameters. The best treatment was at a concentration of 6 cc/l eco farming and a concentration of 7.5 ml/l paklobutrazole (E3P2). The main effect of the concentration of eco farming has a significant effect on all observation parameters. The best treatment was at a concentration of 6 cc/l (E3) eco farming. The effect of the concentration of paclobutrazole significantly affected all observation parameters. The best treatment was at a concentration of 10 ml/l paclobutrazole (P3).
