Abstract
The competency of medical record installation employees is the implementation of a job or task that is based on knowledge and skills about medical records and is supported by work attitudes required by rules governing medical records in an effort to optimally organize medical record activities. This study aims to analyze the level of ability of medical record employees based on existing medical record competencies and the obstacles that exist in the implementation of medical record activities located in the Puri Husada General Hospital, Indragiri Hilir Regency using qualitative methods through the technique of collecting interview data and observing data ten informants. Based on the results of data analysis in this study it is known that the Puri Husada Regional General Hospital has 29 employees in the medical record installation but only 4 (four) competencies have medical records and 25 others with educational background not medical records so there are several medical record activities that are not appropriate, such as delays in searching medical record files, delays or delays in codes and indexes of medical records, storage space for medical records that are no longer appropriate and the lack of friendliness of medical record employees in providing information. The conclusion is that the implementation of medical record activities has not been carried out optimally because competencies are still low or not professional eitherin terms of knowledge, skills or attitudes
