Abstract

This research is motivated by the discourse on the threat of oligarchy in Indonesia through the lyrics of the song Preambule belonging to The Brandals. Eka Annash as the song's lyricist expressed his concern about the reality of Indonesia's political system. The method used in this research is qualitative descriptive and uses the Critical Discourse Analysis method belonging to Teun A. van Dijk which has three elements; text, social cognition, and social context. In the text element, there is the meaning of each verse of the song lyrics that you want to convey, starting from the background of songwriting to the metaphors used in the lyrics. For social cognition, Eka Annash as a songwriter sees the reality of Indonesia's political system which is starting to lead to oligarchy. For elements of the social context, it concludes the discourse that develops in the community, namely, many political actors as power holders contribute to environmental damage through their business octopus. In addition, the ratification of the Job Creation Bill (RUU) is considered a red carpet to perpetuate the power of these political actors.
