Abstract
It all started in December 2019, when news broke out about the emergence of a deadly disease in China originating from an animal market that cannot be there. Where the disease is called Corona Virus or better known as Covid-19. The epidemic is a case that is greatly feared by all countries, including Indonesia. With more cases increasing every day in Indonesia, the Indonesian government finally decided to take swift action. Among them, namely, social distencing, large-scale area restrictions, masks for all according to WHO decisions, to working at home, studying at home, and worshiping at home. The biggest decision made by the government is the release or provision of assimilation of general criminal prisoners and children as a break in the chain of spreading covid-19 in detention centers and prisons. Through qualitative research methods and analysis using labeling theory of phenomena and informants, it can be concluded that there are various kinds of impacts arising from the assimilation program, including positive and negative impacts. Other positive impacts include reducing the spread of the Covid-19 virus in the detention environment and the negative impact, namely, the emergence of chaos between prisoners who do not accept this assimilation program.
