Abstract
The saga in the form of a story in the Indonesian Productive Book for Vocational School 2013 Curriculum Erlangga publisher contains the context of discourse. The context of the discourse is needed to build the story, including the story saga. The author finds the context of discourse in the form of setting, result, and mandate that dominates the saga story, thus making the story interesting to read. This makes the writer interested in examining the context of discourse contained in the saga in the book. The problem of this research is how is the context of saga discourse contained in the Indonesian Language Productive Books for Erlangga Publisher”s 2013 Curriculum Vocational School? This study aims to describe, analyze, and interpret data about the context of discourse in yhe Indonesian Language Productive Book for Erlangga Publisher’s 2013 Curriculum Vocational School. Theories used in this study are Djajasudarma (2012), Sudaryat (2008), and other supporting theories. This research methodology uses content analysis methods, qualitative approaches, and types of library research. In this study found 8 elements of discourse context, namely background elements there are 65 data, there are 22 dataparticipant elements, the are 5 ways elements of conducting conversation, elements of means using written language and with regard to variations in language based on the terms of the wearer, the norm element in conversation is the norm of discussion, and the type element in the form of saga. In the Yellow Princess saga the context of the discourse in the formof background elements (setting and scenes) which refers to a place that is in a distant country, in the palace and refers to the time ie a long time ago, one day, every day, the next day, days,weeks-weeks. Weeks, months, participants involved in total there are 14 participants, the results (ends) in the discourse aims to inform the King that the grave is the grave of the dead Yellow Princess, marked by the presence of plants whose characteristics are similar to Princess Yellow, the message (message) given is that if goodness will not disappear even though someone has died, the way (key)is delivered by way of anger, means (instruments) of written language, norms (norms) namely discussion, and type (genre) namely saga.
