Abstract
Cement is one of the important parameters in the drilling process. Parameters for the success of oil and gas wells include thickening time, compressive strength andshear bond strength which are in accordance with the cementing standards of theAmerican Petroleum Institute (API). According to the API value of thicknessing tito achieve consistency of 100 BC (Bearden Unit of Consistency), the API recommendeminimum compressive strength value is 1000 psi while the shear bond strength is morethan 100 psi. To determine the most ideal additive in the test, it is necessary to vary thconcentration of the additive, in this study the additive concentration consisted of 0%, 1%, 2% (CaCl 2 from eggshell), 2% CaCl 2 (pure), and 3%. The results of the researthat have been carried out show that the most ideal thickening time value is usingconcentration of 2% CaCl 2 from egg shells which has a time of 125 minutes, while thevalue of the thickening time of 2% pure CaCl 2 is 119 minutes, the time differencbetween these two additives is not too significant, namely pure CaCl 2 . 6 minutes fastFor testing the compressive strength of CaCl 2 additive from eggshell with concentration of 2% has the most ideal value of 4784.49 psi, while the compressistrength of pure CaCl 2 with a concentration of 2% has a value of 4706.37 psi. In testingthe compressive strength of CaCl 2 from egg shells, it has a higher value than pureCaCl 2 , which is 78.12 psi. in testing the shear bond strength of CaCl 2 from eggshewith a concentration of 2% has the most ideal value of 518.76 psi, while the value pure CaCl 2 shear bond strength with a concentration of 2% has a value of 494.06 psi in testing the shear bond strength of CaCl 2 from eggshell has a higher value than pureCaCl 2 which is 24.07 psi. From the results of the CaCl 2 test from eggshells, it can guaranteed that eggshells can be used as a drilling additive accelerator because it cspeed up the cement hardening time and can increase the strength of the drillicement.
