Abstract
Oil palm is one of the yields of plantations which become export commodities. Oil palm commodities have a strategic role in the Indonesian economy and especially in Riau Province. This study aims to: (1) Analyze farmer characteristics and KUD profiles in Indrapuri Village, Tapung District, Kampar District, Riau Province. (2) Analyzing marketing channels, marketing institutions, marketing functions, marketing costs, marketing margins, marketing benefits, farmer shares, and marketing efficiency of oil palm fruit. The method used in the research is the survey method, starting in June 2018 to November 2018. Simple random sampling is carried out on 40 farmers. The results showed an average age of farmers of 49.92 years. Duration of education is 7.73 years, total dependents of family are 4 people and experience of cultivation is 25.17 years. The marketing institutions and channels involved in marketing palm oil are farmers, KUD, and factories. The function of oil palm marketing carried out by marketing institutions includes the functions of purchasing, selling, transportation, storage, capital, risk management, market information, standardization and grading. The palm oil marketing margin (FFB) is Rp. 305 / kg, the total marketing cost is Rp. 47.77 / kg, the marketing profit is Rp. 257.23 / kg. The efficiency of marketing palm oil is declared efficient with an efficiency value of 2.46%.
