Abstract

Marginalization is a discourse analysis on the media which is a bad depiction of other parties / groups. News in the Batam Pos daily newspaper has marginalization. The problems in this research are 1) How is the use of marginalization of the language of targeting (dysfenism) in the news in the Batam Pos daily newspaper edition 01 April - 30 April 2019? 2) How is the use of stereotyping marginalization in the news in the Batam Pos daily newspaper edition 01 April - 30 April 2019 ?. The purpose of this study is to describe, interpret and conclude the use of marginalization of dysfenism, and stereotypes in the Batam Pos daily newspaper edition April 1 - April 30 2019. The methodology used is the type of library research. The approach used is a qualitative approach while the method used is a descriptive method. In analyzing the data the author uses the theory of marginalization from Eriyanto. The technique used is documentation and hermeneutic techniques. The data source in this study is the news printed in the Batam Pos daily newspaper edition 01 April - 30 April 2019 and the data in this research are in the form of words, phrases or sentences that are indicated using marginalization techniques. The results of the study are, 1) The marginalization of the type of dysphenism (the language of the language) there are five news data found in the Batam Pos daily newspaper. 2) Marginalization of stereotype types, there are six news data found in the Batam Pos daily newspaper.
