Abstract
The purpose of this study is to explore how the experience of communication competence possessed by a Master of Ceremony in the city of Pekanbaru. In this study using a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach, the data collection techniques used consisted of three, namely conducting in-depth interviews with three informants, as well as direct observation, and documentation. The informants in this study consisted of three informants, namely Faqih Maulana, Nina Arma Yuliana and Vivien Anjadi Suwito. Based on the results of the study, the following results were obtained: the three informants namely Faqih Maulana, Nina Arma Yuliana and Vivien Anjadi Suwito said that the Master of Ceremony is a profession or occupation in their lives, they also said that Master of Ceremony is a paid hobby, master of ceremony is a income in their life. And secondly, according to the three research informants, the communication competence of a Master of Ceremony consists of knowledge, motivation, and skills that must be possessed by a Master of Ceremony.
