Abstract

In an effort to return the world to its pre-pandemic condition, governments around the world have promoted vaccination programs, including Indonesia. The implementation of the Covid-19 vaccination in Indonesia has experienced many obstacles, not a few people doubt the effectiveness and efficacy of the Covid-19 vaccine. Some of them even refuse to be vaccinated. This research is motivated by all the problems that exist in the community from doubts and people's misperceptions about vaccines that are expanded with issues that spread in the community, this has an unfavorable impact so that it could become an obstacle to the Covid-19 vaccination program. This study aims to determine the Communication Barriers to the Community Against Vaccination Programs during the Covid-19 Period for Youth in Sei Sentosa Village, Dusun 4B, Kec. Panai Hulu Kab. Labuhan Batu, North Sumatra. This study uses a qualitative descriptive analysis method. Determination of the subject or respondent in this study was carried out using Snowball Sampling by getting 4 informants. Data collection techniques were carried out by in-depth interviews, (deep interviews), and documentation. The results of the study state that the obstacles that occur in the community at the Sei Sentosa Village Youth Dusun 4B consist of 5 (five) communication barrier factors, namely technical barriers such as lack of information, semantic barriers such as misperceptions, sociological barriers that are due to social influence factors which then affect actions. they don't want to take part in the Covid-19 Vaccination program, psychological barriers where they are afraid to get vaccinated, and there are cultural barriers that make the assumption that vaccination is only a condition of activity in the community so that it affects their actions to participate in the Covid-19 Vaccination Program.
