Abstract

The research was conducted using purposive sampling method which is a sampling technique based on certain criteria. Based on the criteria that have been set, the final results of the research sample that meet the criteria are 17 shoe shops in Tampan District, Pekanbaru City. After all the data is collected, then the data is grouped based on their respective types, presented in tabular form and then will be analyzed and described descriptively. The purpose of this research is to determine the suitability of the application of accounting to the shoe business shop in the Tampan District of Pekanbaru City, whether it is in accordance with the basic concepts of accounting. The data collected in this study are data obtained directly from respondents through interviews and questionnaires to shoe shop business owners in Tampan District, Pekanbaru city and secondary data obtained from respondents, namely the record book of shoe shop business owners in Tampan district, Pekanbaru city. Data analysis used in this research is descriptive analytical method. The data that has been obtained are then classified according to their respective data types Based on the results of the research and discussion, it can be concluded that the application of accounting carried out by shoe shop entrepreneurs in the Tampan District of Pekanbaru City is not in accordance with the basic concepts of accounting.
