Abstract

This research is entitled "Techniques of Rhetoric in Lectures Dr. Syafiq Riza Basalamah. This research background lectures are often called preaching rhetoric because rhetoric is an "art of speaking". Research problems (1) What is the pathos rhetoric technique in the lecturer of Syafiq Riza Basalamah? (2) What is the technique of logos rhetoric in the lecturer of Syafiq Riza Basalamah? This study aims to describe, analyze, interpret and conclude the rhetorical techniques in the form of pathos and logos in the lecture of Ustadz Syafiq Riza Basalamah. This research is a qualitative research. This study uses the theory of Suhandang (2009), Aristotle (2018), Hanurawan (2012), Rachmat (2015). The results of rhetoric techniques Ustadz Syafiq Riza Basalamah found 65 rhetoric techniques, including techniques (1) pathos in the form of Feelings 9 data, Emotion 5 data, Hope 12 data, Hate 10 data, Affection 7 data, (2) Logos in the form Entimem 11 data, Example 5 data used by Ustadz Syafiq Riza Basalamah. So, it can be concluded that the rhetoric technique used by Ustadz Syafiq Riza Basalamah uses more phatos rhetoric in the form of a touch of hope to provide direction that in life must remain enthusiastic and not be lulled by a temporary world. Ustadz Syafiq Riza Basalamah also provided examples in his lecture so listeners can understand with logic or common sense.
