Abstract

ABSTRACT The vigilante has his own reasons to justify the reasons for his actions such as so that the thief/thief cannot escape, in order to provide a deterrent effect that can prevent the perpetrator from committing another crime, another reason is because the crime is repeatedly committed by the perpetrator. crime but the perpetrators of the crime have not been caught by the police so that it is troubling the community and therefore a high emotional feeling arises in the community so that it cannot be arrested and the community takes vigilante action without reporting to the authorities. Even though the act of vigilantism is already contained in Article 170 of the Criminal Code. The problem that the author examines in this study is regarding law enforcement against vigilante crimes in the Siak Hulu Police Sector Law Area and what obstacles are faced in law enforcement against vigilante crimes in the Siak Hulu Police Sector Law Area. The type of research used in this study includes observational (non-doctrinal) legal research. This research was conducted at the Siak Hulu Sector Police. Data collection techniques using interviews. Population and sample are the parties related to the overall problem of this research. The data analysis used is a qualitative technique by means of deductive inference. From the results of the study that law enforcement against vigilante crimes in the Legal Territory of the Siak Hulu Police by the Siak Hulu Police, especially the Criminal Investigation of the Siak Hulu Police, has been carried out even though the results have not been maximized. Obstacles to law enforcement against vigilante crimes in the Siak Hulu Police Sector Law Area by the Siak Hulu Police are in the form of law enforcement barriers and barriers to awareness and compliance with community law.
