Abstract

the author's perpose of conducting this study was to determine whether there was a relationship between leg muscle strength and the ability to shoot soccer games for U-17 players of Pormas FC Pekanbaru. This type of research is correlation. The population in study were 16 players of U-17 Pormas FC Pekanbaru. The sampling technique was a total sampling of 16 people. The instruments used in this study were leg dynamometer test, and soccer shooting. The results of the calculations carried out obtained a correlation index of 0.555. This value is in the range between 0.400 - 0.600 with a moderate of sufficient correlation category. The conclusion that can be drawn from this study is that there is a relationship between leg muscle strength and ability to shoot football on the U-17 players of Pormas FC Pekanbaru with moderate criteria.
