Abstract

ABSTRACK This research aims to find out the diversity of flora and fauna in customary forbidden forest of ImboPutuiKenegarianPetapahan Kampar Regency, to know the students’ responses toward the development product of a module-based teaching material on the enrichment of biodiversity material and preservation effort in SMAN 1 Kampar Utara, SMAN 3 Tapung, and SMAN 14 Pekanbaru, as well as to discover the feasibility level of this module-based teaching materials. The research produced a feasible module-based teaching material as the effective learning resources on biodiversity materials and its preservation effort and to be developed as teaching materials in high school (SMA) level. The Imbo Putui Customary Prohibition Forest is a customary forest area that has an ecosystem that is still preserved so that it has good ecosystem. This customary forest area is managed by the community of Petapahan Village. The data collected in this study were obtained from observations, interviews, and documentation. Based on the identification results, it is known that there are 91 types of flora and 109 types of fauna. Teaching material developed is in form of module. Moreover, the development of teaching materials in this research used modification of R&Din several stages, namely: (1) analyze; (2) design, (3) development. The product trial was carried outin 10th grade of SMAN 1 Kampar Utara, SMAN 3 Tapung and SMAN 14 Pekanbaru with the total of 30 students. The research instruments involvedvalidation sheets of material expert, learning expert, media expert, teachers’ responses questionnaire, and students’ responses questionnaire. Based on the results of the validation of learning experts 84.91 (quite valid), material experts 94.44% (very valid), learning media experts 91.66% (very valid), and teachers 95.83% (very valid). The biology module of flora and fauna biodiversity in the Imbo Putui Customary Prohibition Forest, Petapahan, Kampar Regency, received very good responses from students. This can be seen from the average student response of the three schools of 94.92% (very good). After validating and testing the limited validity, the development of a biological module for flora and fauna biodiversity in the Imbo Putui Customary Prohibition Forest, Petapahan, Kampar Regency, is valid for use.
