Abstract
Workover is any work carried out to replace, change or process productive zones in a reservoir to reach a sufficiently long production interval. Blow Out Preventer (BOP) is used in the workover process. The use of BOP in the development and improvement of oil wells that will increasingly affect the frequency of use of rubber in BOP equipment. To avoid and reduce damage to the BOP rubber packing element require routine maintenance. The work carried out by using the rig as a unit that is strung together with one unit as a hoisting tool is identical to the name Well Control Equipment (WCE) in the process of oil well work, drilling new oil wells and repairing wells, one of the well control equipment is BOP, where BOP is a tool that serves as a barrier (defense) to anticipate the closure of wells in the event of well flow or blow out. The research was conducted to see the ability of BOP performance, especially rubber packing elements based on data degradation test on rig # 01 and rig # 02. The results of this research found that the rubber packing element rig # 01 had poor performance compared to rig # 02.
