Abstract

This study aims to determine the results of the Quality of Service in the Field of Population and Civil Registration in Bengkalis Regency (Birth Certificate). Public service quality indicators are simplicity, clarity and certainty, timeliness. The type of public service quality research is descriptive, namely prioritizing observation, interviews and documentation as a tool in data collection and the data collected is used as a standard tool in empirical conditions aimed at research at the location studied. The informants in this study were the Head of Dukcapil UPT, Civil Registry Service Staff who became the object of this study. Sampling technique using accidental sampling method, which is a sampling technique by taking samples freely, where the researcher can take anyone who is met as a research sample, provided that the person meets the criteria for the research sample. In the issuance of birth certificates, it is still found that there is no widespread information regarding the management and the timeliness must be in accordance with the applicable provisions and must pay attention to the timeliness and schedule of completion. Then do not use tariffs or fees as has been done, this is what makes people reluctant to make birth certificates. Lack of socialization from the UPT about the importance of making birth certificates and lack of public awareness that birth certificates are very important for children for their legal status in the eyes of the law. and recognized as an Indonesian citizen.
