Abstract

Parents have a perception of online learning and play a very important role in children's education and maximum learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. The purpose of the study was to determine the perceptions of parents as well as the positive and negative impacts on online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic in elementary schools. This research is in the form of field research. The method of collecting data is observation, interviews, and documentation with qualitative descriptive. The result of this study is parents have perceptions about online learning of knowledge, opinions and perceptions about positive and negative impacts. The conclusion of online learning by opinion parents is the process of independence in learning is carried out independently with assistance carried out without meeting face to face with teachers or school friends using cellphones. The positive perception of the amount of time together with children and seeing the development of children and negative perceptions of taking up a lot of time, lack of parental education, prosecution will understand technology, the irresponsible nature of children and household cash expenditures increase and the perception of tasks as motivators, caregivers, supervisors, facilitators, mentors, assistance providers, understanding children and giving rewards to children
