Abstract

The Manolam Oral tradition is one of the traditional arts found in the Limo Koto Kampar area which includes Salo, Koto Kuok, Air Tiris, Rumbio, Bangkinang in West Bangkinang District, Kampar Regency, Riau Province. Manolam which is actually nazhm or commonly called Nazam itself comes from Arabic, namely: nazhama yanzhimu: allafahu wa jamma`ahu which means (compose and collect). Nazhm himself was conveyed to the general public in a professional manner in the form of singing lyrics on certain occasions. Manolam manuscripts or nazam consist of the prophet Zhahir and Mi'raj, Kayek (saga), Manolam Siti Syarifah nazam, Child Manolam nazam, Prophet shaving, and grave punishment. The purpose of this study was to describe the educational values contained in the oral tradition of Manolam in Air Tiris, Kampar District, Kampar Regency, Riau Province. This writing uses a descriptive method that is descriptive in nature, to conduct research that is descriptive of a situation or event as it is supported by existing facts. The data collection techniques used in this study were observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The research approach used in this research is a qualitative approach. The theory used by the author in this study is the theory of the Balai Litbang (2016). The results of this study conclude that the educational values contained in the oral tradition of Manolam in Air Tiris are religious values, Manolam contains texts on religious teachings such as the prophet's journey from birth to death, grave punishment and childhood which are the guidelines for life in the world and the hereafter and the manolam was carried out to coincide with the Islamic holiday. The value of harmony is a value that can be seen as part of social values related to human relationships in life together with interactions, intimate relationships, intimacy, peace and serenity based on openness, cooperation, touch of love, mutual understanding, mutual respect, tolerance, mutual respect, and accept differences as they are towards other things. A state of harmony exists where all parties are in a state of peace with each other, like to cooperate, accept each other, in an atmosphere of calm and agreement.
