Abstract

This study aimed to determine efforts to improve students' dancing ability through the peer tutoring method in class X SMAN 3 Tualang, Siak Regency, Riau Province. This type of research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) in the form of descriptive observing and improving the results and teaching and learning process in the classroom. Data collection techniques in this study were observation, interviews, tests and documentation which were analyzed according to the provisions of the classroom action research. The results of this study indicate that of the 28 students only 10 were declared complete but by getting a pretty good grade or fitting with KKM. In the classical completeness in the first cycle as many as 73.92% of students who completed their studies, based on this percentage it can be seen that the ability to dance students is still far above average because there are only students who are complete but in the KKM fitting category only and not up to half the number of students. The classical completeness in cycle II was 88.17% of students who completed it so the researchers concluded that by maximizing learning using peer tutoring methods can stimulate student activities that were still playing now become more serious and focused on learning that occurs so that the value of students' abilities increases.
