Abstract

The research that the author did was to examine the efforts of teachers to evercome the difficulties of students in learning the art of dance and culture in SMAN 1 Kampar Timur sub-district of Kampa academic year 2019/2020. In the learning process can not be separated from learning problems one of which is difficulty in learning. Basically learning difficulties of students is a symptom that appears in various manifestations of the various behaviors of students, directly or indirectly in accordance with the level of learning difficulties of students. In the process of learning art and culture especially dance some students lack hobbies and they are happy in learning cultural arts especially dance, lack of students creativity in learning arts and culture especially dance, lack of talent possessed by students in learning cultural arts (dance), due to the difficulty of students’ understending of dance theory and practice. This study aims to determine what efforts are made by teachers to overcome the difficulties of students in lerning the art of dance and culture in SMAN 1 Kampar Timur District Kampa 2019/2020 school year. This research method uses descriptive analysis method using qualitative data, namely research conducted by approaching the object under study to obtain accurate data. The subject of this research consisted of 32 research subjects consisting of 1 (one) cultural arts teracher, 31 students in SMAN 1 Kampar Timur in class XII MIPA 1. Based on the results of research conducted, it can be concluded that the teacher overcame the difficulties of students in learning the art of dance and culture in SMAN 1 Kampar Timur very satisfying. The effort is that the teachers has analyzed the results of the diagnosis of students difficilties, the teachers has identified the problem of student difficulties, and the teacher has arranged an improvement program.
