Abstract

ABSTRACK ANALYSIS OF PUBLIC TRANSPORT SERVICE DEMAND IN PEKANBARU CITY (CASE STUDY OF PEKANBARU TRANS METRO BUS) By: ASRAWARDAYA 145110739 (Under Mentor :Mentor I: Drs.M.Nur.MM and Mentor II: Hj.Nawarti Bustamam, SE, M.Si) In an effort to create a sustainable transportation system, the existence of Trans Metro Pekanbaru as the main transportation in the city of Pekanbaru needs to be developed consistently and continuously. One of the evaluations in service quality is to use the point of view of consumers who are users of the service. The perspective of consumers is the main thing in realizing better service. The purpose of this study is to become one of the guidelines in improving the quality of Trans Metro Pekanbaru services as a sustainable transportation system. Factor analysis and IPA (Importance-Performance Analysis) are used to determine the quality of Trans Metro Pekanbaru services, making it easier to determine priorities for Trans Metro in improving its services. The sample of this research is as many as 98 students of the engineering faculty of the Islamic University of Riau, who are part of the active commuter student group. The results showed that there were three groups of Trans Metro Pekanbaru services, namely technical factors as the first factor, service time as the second factor and officer service as the last factor. Of the three groups, the service time factor is the most crucial because it greatly affects the quality of Trans Metro Pekanbaru services. Thus, the strategy of improving quality in terms of service time is a serious concern for Trans Metro Pekanbaru to achieve a sustainable transportation system in the city of Pekanbaru.
