Abstract
This research was carried for 3 months starting from the preparation of research containers, tools and materials until the research was completed on Mei 12-August 15, 2021 with the aim of knowing the density of Chlorella sp. on survival and growth of baung fish larvae. The materials used in this study were baung fish larvae aged 4 days and Chlorella sp. which has been cultured at the Microalgae Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Islamic University of Riau. Chlorella sp. in culture using pure leachate as a culture medium with a concentration of 10%/L water, while the leachate dose is 500 mL, seeds of Chlorella sp. as much as 125 ml, water 4.375 ml and a total of 5000 ml in the media. The method used was a completely randomized design (CRD) method with 5 treatments and 3 replications, namely P1 = density of Chlorella sp. 140 x 104cells/mL, P2 = density of Chlorella sp. 150 x 104 cells/mL, P3 = density of Chlorella sp. 160 x 104cells/mL, P4 = density of Chlorella sp. 170 x 104 cells/mL, P5 = density of Chlorella sp. 180 x 104cells/mL. The best results in this study were found in P5 with a density of Chlorella sp. 180 x 104cells/mL, which resulted in a 78% survival rate of baung fish larvae. The average weight growth is 21.7 mg and the average length growth is 3.33 mm and the average daily growth rate of baung fish larvae is 3.10%. The water quality in this study supports the maintenance of baung fish larvae with a temperature of 28-29oC, a pH of 5-6, a DO content of 4.4-5.1 ppm, while for an ammonia content of 1.93-2.35 mg /L.
