Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the Rumbai Market Management Strategy by the Department of Industry and Trade of Pekanbaru City. The strategy assessment indicator used consists of seven indicators. This type of research is a descriptive qualitative survey, which prioritizes the list of interviews as a means of collecting data and the data collected by this tool is then used as the main raw material for analyzing the empirical conditions and objectivity of the existence of objectives at the research location. The informants and key informants in this study amounted to 23 people. Types and data collection techniques used consisted of primary data collected using the interview list technique and secondary data collected using observation techniques. Based on this analysis technique, the researcher assesses and concludes that the Rumbai Market Management Strategy by the Department of Industry and Trade of Pekanbaru City is categorized as Self-managed. The inhibiting factor is that there are still some stubborn Rumbai market traders, namely deliberately leaving the remnants of their sales that cause garbage scattered and smells bad, thus disturbing the comfort of visiting buyers. Then the second is the lack of firmness of the UPTD Market Manager of the Industry and Trade Service in collecting retribution for the Rumbai market, because there are frequent delays and have passed a predetermined period of time, which is once a week.
