Abstract

Therapeutic Communication Between Nurse and Patient in The Surgical Inpatient Room at RSUD Mandau Gagas Siswoyo (159110121) Therapeutic communication is communication that is carried out consciously and the activites and goals are for the patient’s recovery. In terms of psychology, the therapeutic communication is to reconstruct the patient’s personality and to treat mental disorders that occur in the patient. The Problem discussed in this study is how the therapeutic communication that nurses carry out in the healing process of surgical inpatients. This study used qualitative research methods Research used the technique of taking the subject by means of purposive sampling. The informants in this study were nurses who had worked for about 5 years and who had a direct role in caring for surgical inpatiens. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The result of this study is the therapeutic communication performed by nurses in the healing process of surgical inpatients. Nurses use the early stage of communication, advanced stage, late stage.
