Abstract

In this study conducted to determine the role of village heards in Sungai Berapit Village, Concong Subdistrict, Indragiri Hilir Regency bye the village head. Where the role of the village head is measured by four indicators: development planning, implementation, utilization and development. The research is located in Sungai Berapit Village, Concong District, Indragiri Hilir Regency and uses quantitative methods. This study consists of two population groups and a sample of 25 people for the community and a total of 14 village officials, the whole sample being made where the village head is the key informant and the sampling technique used in data collection in study is a cencus technique for village officials while for the community using purposive sampling technique. The Role of the Village Head in Village Development in Sungai Berapit Village, Concong Subdistrict, Indragiri Hilir Regency, as from the results of the analysis in this study, the role of the village head has been going well, but there are some things that need to be improved according to the inicators I use. The means of the authors of this research are that the village head and other village officials are more persistent in carrying out their duties and functions properly, especially in inviting and motivating the community to participate in development.
