Abstract

EMP Bentu Limited is a subsidiary of PT. Energi Mega Persada (PT. EMP) which is engaged in the exploration and exploitation of oil and gas in the area of Riau Province. By establishing a gas seller / purchase agreement with PLN Pekanbaru, EMP Bentu Ltd. using orifice meters as custody meters in measuring gas flow rates and flowcomputers as online measurements. The orifice meter works using the Bernoulli principle by measuring the pressure difference between high pressure and low pressure which results in narrowing of the flow in the orifice plate and then converted to flow rate. Unaccounted for Gas (UFG) is the difference between gas bought / received and gas sold / sent. The causes of unaccounted gas are broadly categorized into 3, namely leakage, theft and errors in gas measurement. The accuracy of the factors is needed so that the measurement of the gas flow rate is accurate. One of them is gas quality / gas composition. Changes in gas quality can cause changes in relative density of gas and can cause Unaccounted for Gas (UFG). The greater the value of specific gravity gas, the smaller the value of the obtained gas flow quantity. With no specific gravity gas data being updated in the computer based on the results of monthly laboratory analysis, an unaccounted for gas of 0.02 MMSCFD = 20.1 MMBTU / d and a difference in commercial value of $ 100,5 / day or when converted to a rupiah of Rp 1.419.155 / day.
