Abstract

The importance of shear bond and compressive strength tests on the drilling cement in order to know the magnitude of the pressure strength that can be held vertically or horizontally by the cement. Gas emmision and high energy used for manufacturing cement increase need to replace the usage of base cement with natural material. Ampel bamboo leaf were considered waste by the community, and can be utilized to reduce usage of base cement. One alternative material that can be utilized is fly ash of ampel bamboo leaf. Ampel bamboo leaf (bambusa vulgaris) is a pozzolan material which also has cementation properties with high silica and calcium oxide content. Fly ash of ampel bamboo leaves is produced from calcination of ampel bamboo leaf charcoal at a temperature of 600 for 2 hours and cooling using the normalizing method. To find out the content of silica oxide and calcium oxide in ampel bamboo leaf fly ash, characterization was done using XRF and XRD methods. And to find out the strength of the cement, shear bond and compressive strength tests were carried out on the base cement mixture. The suspension temperature testing of cement 48,89C (120F) and 24-hour drying process under pressure conditions of 14,7 psi. XRF characterization results showed that ampel bamboo leaf fly ash has a 58,9% SiO2 content and 10,3% CaO. The XRD characterization results showed the structure of crystalline silica with the silica peak at 27 with the quartz phase. The calcium phase turns into hydroxyapatite crystal at a peak of 33. Shear bond and compressive strength test results show maximum results at the addition of 25%, where the value of the shear bond obtained by 260,04 psi and compressive strength value of 1374,21 psi.
