Abstract

EFFICIENCY ANALYSIS OF SIAM ORANGE BUSINESS IN KUOK DISTRICT, KAMPAR REGENCY, RIAU PROVINCE Sri Wella Yufita , Detri Karya , Azharuddin M. Khaharuddin Nasution No. 113 Pekanbaru. 28284 Tel: 0761-674681; Fax: 0761-674681 ABSTRACT Sri Wella Yufita (194221023) research with the title "Analysis of Siam Orange Farming Efficiency in Kuok District, Kampar Regency, Riau Province". This study aims to determine the characteristics of farmers, farming profiles, application of Siamese citrus cultivation techniques, analysis of farming and farming efficiency of Siamese oranges in Kuok District, Kampar Regency, Riau Province. Based on the results of the research that has been carried out, it can be concluded that the characteristics of Siam orange farmers are that the average age of the farmers is in the productive age, the average level of education is equivalent to high school, the average farming experience is very experienced and the number of family dependents is relatively small. Farming profiles of Siam orange farmers are the average area of land with a large scale, the average labor is small (micro enterprises) and the average capital is small (micro enterprises). Siam citrus cultivation techniques in Kuok District in planting, watering, fertilizing and weeding activities have not been in accordance with the recommendations. As for the pruning, fruit thinning, buffering, pest and disease control activities, it is in accordance with the recommendations for Siam citrus cultivation. The results of the analysis of the average efficiency of farming are feasible and efficient. The results of the analysis of the efficiency of the production function show that labor has a significant but not significant effect on production yields, fertilizers have a significant and significant effect, while pesticides have no significant and significant effect on production results. The results of the analysis of the technical, allocative and economical efficiency of Siam orange farming in Kuok District are not yet efficient.
