Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the development potential of religious tourism object of the Tomb of Sheikh Abdurrahman Siddiq Al-Banjari in Indragiri Hilir Regency, Riau Province. The formulation of problem of this study is to find out whether the religious tourism object of the Tomb of Sheikh Abdurrahman Siddiq Al-Banjari in Indragiri Hilir Regency, Riau Province has the potential to be developed. In this study, the potential for tourism development is analyzed based on six dimensions, namely attractions, facilities, infrastructure, transportation, hospitalily, and religiousness. The type of this study is descriptive qualitative and the data used in the study are primary data and secondary data. The data collection techniques used are interview, observation, and documentation. The results show that all of these dimensions were on average reasonable and the Tomb of Sheikh Abdurrahman Siddiq Al-Banjari has the potential to be developed into a religious tourism object. However, in the infrastructure dimension with indicators of adequate places, electricity, and access to the tourist attractions, and in the hospitality dimension with indicators of the availability of lodging and health services, they still have not run well and need to be developed. Then, this should be a concern for the stakeholders.
