Abstract
This paper aims to find out the elements and roles contained in Gondang Gong Music as a silat accompanist in the ceremony of welcoming the Malay bride in Simpang Padang Villange, Bathin Solapan District, Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province. The researsh methodology that I use is descriptive qualitative research, while the data collection techniques used are observation, documentation, and interview technique. The results of the study subjects consisted of 5 people. Gondang Gong music is as a silat accompanist in the welcoming ceremony of the malay bride in Simpang Padang Village, Bathin Solapan District, Bengkalis Regency, Riau Privince. In this Gondang Gong Music, there are element of music, they are: ladder Tone, Gondang Gong accompaniment of silat musik uses ice Major tone. Tempo, Tempo used in Gondang Gong’s music is Allegro (fast). Melody, this music has a melody palyed by a musical intrument. Barama, in this music the bar used is 4/4. Timbre, the timbre Gondang Gong music is Celempong, Gondang and Gong. The dynamics, the dynamics of the Gondang Gong music are mezzo forte. Harmony, there is no harmony in Gondang Gong music. Music has funtions, namely: Gondang Gong music as an emosional expression (felling), Gondang Gong music as communication. Gondang Gong music entertainment.
