Abstract

Studying while working for students has become commonplace at this time, along with these two demands every day it will certainly cause tension (stress). So it takes the ability to fight to balance these two roles of learning and work. This study aims to determine the relationship between fighting power and stress in students who work at the Islamic University of Riau. The data collection method used a fighting power scale adapted from the theory of Stoltz (2000) and a stress scale using the DASS. The number of items on the fighting power scale is 10 items, the number of stress items is 42 items. The population in this study were students at the Islamic University of Riau who worked with a sample of 100 students. The sampling technique used is Simple Random Sampling. The results of the data analysis method are not normally distributed and have a linear pattern. The analysis used is Spearman's Rank Correlation. The results of the analysis showed a correlation of -.300* with a sig value of 0.002 (p < .05). This shows a negative correlation between fighting power and stress in students working at the Islamic University of Riau. The results of this analysis test state that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected so that the hypothesis in this study is accepted.
